Duties:
- Capture photographs of crime scenes and accidents, and develop negatives.
- Classify and collect fingerprints of felons, forwarding one set to the FBI and keeping one for departmental records.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED, with two years of job-related college courses and two years of experience or training in fingerprint and photographic work.
- Trained as a Latent Fingerprint Examiner; an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Chemistry, or Biology is preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in fingerprint classification, photography, and modern identification techniques.
- Sound judgment, tact, and courtesy in dealing with the public and law enforcement personnel.
